Breeze and turned to look at Kaige, she could easily spot the sarcasm in his voice. By the looks of it, it seemed as if Kaige was able to look into his future – or something along those lines. Breeze wasn’t sure what she would do if she could glance upon her future, would she hate it? She’d probably end up trying to prevent it. Even she, who is a Goddess, cannot glance into her future. “It can’t be all bad can it? There has to be some kind of good. We after all get powers for some reason. I should know this, after all.” She said with a smirk.
She frowned slightly at what he said next. She knew it was somewhat true. If she did have the power to change something, she probably just end up screwing her life even more, but she couldn’t imagine it being any worst then it already was…but was it really that bad? She grinded her fangs together at the thought. “I suppose so, I guess if I knew I would screw up my life then I guess things the way they are now…aren’t so bad…because I guess it could be worst, right?” She wasn’t sure if that was true, could there be a 1 percent chance that if someone did change their past it would turn out the way they always dreamed it would be? She wasn’t sure and doubted she would ever find out.

"Oh, yeah. It's really great," he said in a tone filled with acid, no longer holding sarcasm. "It's really great when you get to see your family and your pack mates get slaughtered brutally and mercilessly. It's really great when you tell everyone else about what you saw and they don't believe it," he continued, nearly laughing humorlessly. "And the best part? It all comes true. Imagine that!" This was a side of Kaige hardly anyone had ever saw. Not even Kali, who he had been with for a sufficient amount of time, had ever seen this side. It was one that he kept buried deep inside, hardly ever letting it be revealed. The pain that he kept hidden for so long was making itself noticed and it showed now more than ever. "And then you have to live with that for the rest of your life. Yeah," he said, allowing a cold, hollow laugh to escape from his throat, "it's really great."
He fell silent after that, staring at his surroundings with empty eyes, not really seeing the things around him. He had never allowed himself to go that far before, but it was bound to happen at some point. He didn't seem to care at that point. So what if he let a weaker side of him show? It didn't matter; no one was perfect. "Yeah, I guess it could," he replied minutes later, no trace of any emotion in his voice or in his empty expression. "It could be a lot worse."

“I see…” She said in a slow voice. She wasn’t quite sure what she should say to him. She wasn’t really one to comfort others, though she doubted that is why Kaige told her that – it probably just came out, she knew how that felt. When emotions you even hid from yourself, came out before you could stop them. “I’m sorry, Kaige. That must have been hard…but do you think it would have been any easier if you did not know? At least…you were prepared for what was going to happen into the future…if you had no idea…don’t you think it would have been worst?” She wasn’t the best advice giver, for all she know she could have been wrong. Maybe it would be better not to know then to know. What would she knew if she knew her son was going to betray her and his father? Would that of made anything easier?
“It could have been worst; probably much worst then you think it could have been.” She told him. “I could say – at least you are alive – but for us immortal, being alive is not enough, huh?” She turned and looked off into the horizon as she spoke. “Because we cannot die, for those who are not immortal wish to remain upon this earth forever – however for us that are immortal – sometimes we wish that we could stay dead...your lucky on that part though Kaige, for even though you are immortal, you can still die. While it is my curse or a blessing, I’m not quite sure, is to stay here for all eternity.”

"Just because I saw what I did did not mean I was prepared for it," he snapped, whipping his gaze around to her direction. His eyes, which were empty just seconds ago, were now vivid with anger; they narrowed as his whole body tensed. "Would you be prepared if you saw your family and pack mates being killed? Tell me how, exactly, you would feel knowing that any day at any given moment, your whole life would be changed." It was clear to see that Kaige was shaking, but only barely. "It sure as hell ain't that great," he spat, turning his gaze away once more.
"I would rather not know it was coming. You know why?" he asked, looking back at her with an expression full of anger and hate. "Because sometimes it's best not to know what's going to happen. This power isn't a blessing like some might think it would be." Once more, he fell silent as he fumed over his thoughts though he was trying to calm himself down. What kind of alpha would he be if he kept this up? "Even before I was immortal, I wished I was dead. Unfortunately for me, that never happened." He paused and remembered something from long ago and scowled. "It did, but lucky me.. someone brought me back." He shook his head and added nothing more to the subject, feeling that enough damage had already been done.

Breeze wasn’t really expecting him to snap at her, but it did not bug her. She frowned slightly, any trace of emotion had left her face and was replaced with irritation and slight bitterness. “Well excuse me.” She said with an edgy tone and a roll of her eyes. “Listen here, buddy. Honestly I don’t give a crap about most of my family anyway and I haven’t seen them in years. If something happened to them – then it wouldn’t be my fault – as well as it wasn’t your fault. Was it your fault that your parents and pack was killed? No. Was it your fault that they didn’t believe you? No.” Breeze tried not to let her temper flare up, but she wasn’t going to apologize for her words. She thought she was stuck in the past, but it seemed like Kaige was worst off then she was.
“Listen, I’m sorry about what happened with your past – but there is no reason to get pissed off at me for what I said.” Breeze told him in her usually calm voice. Things weren’t going to get better if she yelled at him, after all she wanted to stay in the pack, not get kicked out. “Dying doesn’t solve anyone’s problems…neither does running away from them. I know I shouldn’t be preaching about this, after all…I’m not completely over what happened, but I’m getting there.” She turned away from Kaige. “I don’t want to die, I mean if I could die, but…I’m not sure if I would want to live forever.”

"That's great for you," Kaige replied in his I-honestly-don't-care-anymore tone of voice. "And just for the record, yeah, it was my fault they were killed and it was because of my power." He didn't care that he was being rude; he was the alpha after all. They had that right, didn't they? He honestly didn't know, nor did it bother him that it would effect his reputation. Who cared about that anymore? He snorted quietly and rolled his eyes, muttering about something unheard of. This was all one big mistake.
"Who said I was getting mad at you?" he asked, throwing an irritable glance in her direction. "If I was, you'd know. This is nothing." He turned away and said nothing more after that, fuming silently - not about the past, but the present - to himself. "Why don't we both drop it, alright? You shut up about your past things and I'll shut up about mine. We'll both just shut up," he replied sometime later, feeling frustrated and annoyed - mainly with himself.

She was just out wandering. It had been what...a complete hundred years since anything cool had happened. To be honest, Shinrin was completly bored out of her mind. If she was still her old, emo self, she would have killed herself LONG ago, but right now, she felt like she was missing something, and she decided to wander until she found out what. In the past hundred years, all she did was wander. She helped a few wolves, even raised one once, a pup that got seperated from his parents. He felt like her own. Man, did she love that pup. But that was years ago, and Kyael had been dead for quite some time. He died happy though, but it still broke her heart.
She had changed so much. Shinrin was hardly herself anymore. No longer was she weak or shy. Infact, a few had told her she would make a good leader, but she ignored it. She was an alphess once. How long ago was that? It seemed like forever, hardly even a memory anymore. It didnt seem real. Who was the alpha? Oh, duh, how could she forget? Kaige ofcourse. Shinrin didnt know Kaige's were abouts, wasnt even sure he was still alive. It hurt a little, but she doubted he even remembered her at all. It still bothered her a little, but not much. It had been a hundred years....
A whole hundred years. Shinrin felt like a ghost anymore, just passing on by. She would pass through pack after pack, searching for what ever it was she needed. She hadnt aged a bit. The two feathers her sister's had given her, her lifes, still hung from her tail. Because they were not her own, she had not aged, had not come closer to death. And so ofcourse she felt like a ghost, except she was living. She rarely even visited memory lane like she used to. Memories just seemed like old movies she had viewed once, and nothing more.
That was until, one of the memories came alive.
She squinted her eyes. So he was still alive, Kaige. She turned away, about to walk off. He wouldnt want to see her again...allthough... She turned back towards him. It couldnt possibly hurt too much to just drop in. It actually felt good, just seeing his face again. It made her feel less like a ghost, like maybe she was alive, and her memories were actually memories, and not just dreams. She slowly walked towards Kaige. "Hey!" She called out with a smirk. "Havn't seen you in a while. How's life been treating you?"

“Yes, I think that would be the best thing.” Breeze said, deciding to ignore his other comments. She remained silent for a moment, sitting down upon the ground as she looked up at the sky and took a deep breath. She really hoped things worked out. It seemed like to her Kaige was still stuck in his past, even more so then she was. At least she was beginning to let go, but it was almost as if Kaige was holding on to his, but she wasn’t sure why. She shrugged her shoulders and turned away, it wasn’t any of her business and it really didn’t concern her.
A strange new voice broke Breeze out of her daydream as she leaned her head forward and spotted a female – who seemed to know Kaige. She was a little curious about who this strange female could be, could it be one of those ‘loves’ that Kaige had in the past that he mentioned? She wasn’t sure, she pushed herself up from the ground, however she didn’t walk over to the female, just remained where she was.

Although is outburst had only happened just moments ago, the memory of it faded away quickly and Kaige had forgotten everything he had just previously said. In a way, it seemed like he had multiple personalities, or maybe he was just bipolar. With the things he had gone through in the past 100 years, anything was possible. For the time being he appeared to look weary and worn down, the years of traveling and age briefly showing in his haggard expression. In reality though, he hadn't aged at all. He was still as 'young' looking as before, still well built and muscled like he had been. The only change in his appearance was the one large scar that zig-zagged from the base of his throat to the center of his chest.
He was in his own world - something that happened often with him - when Shinrin made an appearance. At first, he hadn't really heard her; his mind was elsewhere. The second time, he thought he heard someone speaking, but he imagined that it was Breeze replying to what he had said before. The third time, he finally woke up to reality and pried his gaze away from the rocky pits below only to be greeted by someone he hadn't seen in many, many years; someone he could probably do without.
There was not a hint of surprise or shock in his crimson eyes, nor was their anger or annoyance. In fact, there wasn't really anything. He seemed empty, almost dead in a way. "Where the hell did you come from?" he asked, his voice quite flat and hollow. Had this happened like the many times it did years ago, he would have had another outburst but this time, things were different. He didn't care anymore.

Shinrin frowned. She still wasn't used to Kaige's anger towards her, and she never would be. She calmly approached him, not scared in the least bit. "Iv'e just been wandering. I guess it should'nt suprize me that I've bumped into you again, although...it has been a hundred years." She was talking as if to a friend, ofcourse to her, Kaige still was a friend. Her eyes fell to the large scar on his chest. "Kaige..." The name felt almost alian on her tongue. "What the hell happened to you?" Her eyes wandered again, restless just like her untill they fell apon the female. Shinrin didn't think much of her. At first, she wondered if this was his new mate, but he could tell by their chemistry that this was obviously not. Shinrin started to wonder...How many mates had Kaige had over this hundred years? Shinrin had stayed alone. There was only one she ever loved. Who knows, she may never love again. She felt almost lonely. Almost.
Shinrin turned back to Kaige, glanced around, and realized something. "Oh damn." She whispered to herself as she finally realized Kaige was alpha of this territory. She gave a quick, low bow, then stood back up just as firm as before. "sorry." She whispered. "In all these years of wandering, Ive forgotten my manners."

"Funny," Kaige said though he didn't seem the least bit amused. "I would have thought you'd be dead by now," he said, his tone still remaining flat. He wasn't surprised by himself. Most would have assumed he would have snapped at Shinrin the moment he saw her, but he was over that. He had had many years to get over that and it finally happened. "Shows how much I know," he said a few moments later, shrugging idly as he gazed off into the distance seeming partially distracted. When he heard her question, he nearly laughed out loud. Had he have done so it wouldn't have held any humor to it.
"You don't remember?" he asked, continuing to keep his gaze on the horizon. "You where there after it happened, remember? You brought me back. Anything clicking yet?" No, he wasn't being rude. He was actually being quite civil considering the last time he had saw Shinrin, he never really wanted to see or speak to her again. "Huh," he barked a low, humorless laugh as he turned his head slightly to look at her briefly. "Oh well. It doesn't matter." He shrugged once more and gave her a 'Who cares anymore?' look before turning away once more, but before doing so, he noticed her bow.
"Don't even bother with that," he muttered with a quiet snort. "Yeah, I'm an alpha, but I don't care for that 'You better bow down to me or I'll kill you' crap anymore. I don't think I ever really did." He fell silent for a moment as he thought back to the first time he held such power and could not recall ever wanting anyone to do such a thing. "Following my rules will be suitable," he said, seeming to be talking more to himself than to her.

Shinrin glanced down, as if thinking hard. She hardly remembered anything from back then...it was so long ago. All she could remember......She thought hard. All she could remember was....that she loved him. Hm, that was all for now. She shrugged, then looked back up to Kaige with a small smile.
"I dont do it because I have to, I do it because I want to." She shrugged. "And yes...Im still alive. I dont know if you would call that fortunate or unfortunate...Im still searching for something, though I havnt the slightest clue what. But damn, these past hundred years have been....blec." She shrugged again.

What was this? These changes among the Nozomi Lands... everything was... different. She had been living with Guard, thousands and thousands of miles away, but when Lucien had died, (a wolf like her brother) Velia felt that it was probably time to move on. So here she was, out of curiousity, meandering back to the Nozomi Lands. Why, though? The huge area that once was all as one, was now seperated up into six packs. So maybe she should join one, become a member of a pack, and so she joined the Uriel Pack, not feeling accepted into any of the 'Good' packs anymore... and not really liking the ways of the Neturals. Velia certainly wasn't badass enough to join the Azrael Pack, so where'd that leave her? The Uriel Pack, an unknown leader, and unknown members... but she felt most accepted here. Like the wolves were like her. Velia certainly wasn't the way she used to be.
Velia wandered along near the edge of the bluffs, her pelt blowing softly in the light breeze that there was. It was hard to see the pulsing red light in the necklace that was around her neck, since it was daylight and all. The wolf stood at 3'5" and obviously didn't weigh more than eighty pounds. Just as before. She was as beautiful as she had been more than one hundred years ago... just in different ways. Instead of a bright white pelt, she had soft grays and reds running through that sort of blended together, and instead of pure blue eyes they were deep purple. Most wouldn't know it was Velia at all, but her facial structure, body structure, flowery scent, and rich, full voice. Everything else was changed, and she knew that Velia Silvermoon was not the same wolf as she once was.
She walked along the bluffs, and noticed that the wind couldn't decide in which direction it wanted to blow. Sometimes, it was blowing towards her, and a second later, it was blowing in the opposite direction. "Stupid wind..." She muttered, hopping down from a low one and continuing to walk, as if it had done any good. After a second, a foreigin, but oddly familiar scent came to her maw, and then another. Two scents she once knew? She started to think about the scent, trying to remember who's they were... and then the wind switched directions. Velia picked up speed to a slow trot, until she came upon two wolves. It was clear who they were, too.
"Kaige...? Shinrin?"

It was clear to Kaige that she didn't remember what had happened. Yes, it happened many, many years ago but he hadn't forgotten it. He was quite sure there were others who hadn't, either. But not everyone had the perfect memory; he knew he didn't. Shaking his head he spoke, "I died. You brought me back with one of those.. feather things of yours. Is any of this ringing a bell yet?" he asked, shifting his weight as he pushed himself up. The memory of that night was still there, but not as vividly as it used to be so long ago. At least Thanatos, the one wolf who caused all that destruction, was dead and he would never cause trouble for anyone else ever again.
"Yes, but you see, this is my pack. My pack, my rules," he stated as he turned around to face her with a raised brow. "None of that now." He paused as his brows pulled together in thought. "Unless you're not exactly in my pack...," he mused, raising his gaze to the sky as if searching for an answer. "Either way.. don't bother with it. However, I can't stop you so..." His sentence died after that and he shrugged briefly, turning back around to face the edge of the bluffs in silent thought. Going over his thoughts was something he could never seem to stop. It just happened constantly, day after day. It used to bother him but he eventually just went with it.
It seemed like today was a day full of surprises - surprises for Kaige, that was. It wasn't that he hated them, he just didn't enjoy having something just thrown at him so suddenly. There were some good surprises and some bad. This - though he had no idea who was there at that exact second - was a good one. He had the feeling that someone was else was there. Someone he used to know very well. Someone he actually once loved. "Huh, he muttered quietly as his ears flicked back to his skull. If he wanted to know who it was, he needed to look. But did he want to? 'Might as well find out... I hope it's not Kali,' he thought in his mind, not feeling bad for thinking such a thing. His crimson gaze turned slightly as he heard a voice, one that seemed familiar but different all at the same time. Needless to say when he finally saw who it was, he was quite baffled.
"Err...," he sputtered, not really sure who this wolf just yet. "Do I...?" He didn't finish his question as he narrowed his eyes, trying to figure out just who this was. She seemed familiar but there was something different. Well, duh. "I feel really stupid, but who are you?" he asked, his expression quite serious. Apparently this female knew who he was and who Shinrin was. That had to tell him something. But who was she? Something seemed to click in his mind and it showed in his eyes as he finally seemed to realize. "Velia?"

Shinrin gave a small smirk. "No, I hope Im not offending you by saying this, but Im not sure Im intrested in your pack. Honestly, Im not looking forward to any pack. Im a wanderer now. A pack seems too permanent for me." She stopped when he continued talking. he died? She gave him one of her lives? Well that would mean he cant die...not unless killed, like her...But none of this made any sense to Shinrin. She couldnt remember a thing, except that Kaige was an old mate, something happened...she couldnt remember exactly what, and they had seperated. She also remembered how it broke her heart, and that was about it.
"Im sorry Kaige." She said, actually looking quite disapointed. "I dont remember a thing." Her head snapped quickly apon the new wolfess who had arived. She hadn't smelt her until she was right there beside them. She gazed at the female with utter confusion. Her appearence wasnt even slightly familiar, but she knew her name. How did she know her name? She stared at the wolfess for quite some time, trying to figure it out, but failing completly. Even when she heard Kaige speak the name "Velia", nothing came. She felt lost. But that was because Shinrin was a different wolf. She had lived a new life, turned over a new leaf. Perhaps in this, she had just lost her memories, like they were nothing important.
"Excuse me, but...." Shinrin paused. "How do you know my name? I've never seen you in my life...well...not that I can remember." Perhaps, when this "Velia" could answer her, Shinrin may begin to remember what exactly she had forgotten that hundred years ago.
