There was nothing like running through an empty open valley, listening to the sound of the air rushing passed your ears, feeling the wind twist its way through your fur and down to your very skin. Some ran because they received an adrenaline rush from it; others ran just for the fun of it. This wolf ran because it was something needed with one particular power he possessed. Of course, no one would really know this unless they knew him quite well. It really only looked like he was just running, but if one were to look close enough, and maybe hard enough, they would be able to see the very faint and very soft blue glow that rose from the front paws of this wolf. That couldn't be normal, could it? But then again, who really knew what normal was in this world?
The wolf was running through the lower part of the valley, away from the hills and trees that surrounded it. The grass was thick and tall, keeping him hidden from view. Ahead of him, a rather large rabbit ran quickly through the undergrowth in an attempt to get away from the predator that was chasing it. The wolf was merely chasing said rabbit to increase the ability of his one power, even though he had nearly mastered it. Perhaps he really had nothing better to do. Who knew? But a second later, the rabbit changed direction, throwing the wolf off course. Well, this was unexpected, but at the same time, he should have seen it coming.
"Dammit." The voice, though it had muttered the word quietly, was deep and distinctively male. The tall grass began to move abruptly, rustling together as the male made his way out with a visible scowl across his maw. He was about an average size when it came to males. There was nothing special about him, though he did look more like a domesticated dog rather than a wolf. His fur was a dark navy blue in color, almost looking black until the rays of the sun cast themselves upon him. Fur as white as snow was seen going from his head and down to his underbelly; it also covered his paws and the tip of his tail. Tan cloth bandages were wrapped securely and tightly around each leg and part of his tail, while a matching bandanna covered his head. His eyes were a deep foresty green, set back on a face that always appeared to have a stern expression.
The male, who had clearly looked aggravated before, now showed no signs of emotion, his expression holding the same look it had for as long as he could remember. His eyes scanned the surrounding area and he noted that no one else was around. He was quite sure this pack was the largest in the land, so where were the other wolves? His left shoulder lifted in a shrug as if he was answering his own question. Maybe it was better no one else was around; he hated having others see him fail at something he was supposed to be good at, but what could he do?
Just try again.

It wasn't the brightest of sunny days, but still nice out as the meadow gained another wolf. Winter had started to creep up on the wolves of the Nozomi lands, but there was nothing bad about it. Winter was a wonderful time when wolves could romp around in the snow and just have fun. A great season full of joy. And no wolf should forget that it was mating time in winter. When wolves could settle down with their mates and decide on having pups or not. Yes, an overall wonderful time, unless you were a lonely wolf with no mate. Like the fae that entered the meadow. She was alone in the world. She had some trust issues, but once you got to know her she was very fun.
The female walked at a slow trot, a strange thing for her. She paid attention only to the cold grass beneath her paws. She wouldn't have noticed if a meteor came crashing down in front of her. She was lost in her thoughts about a good friend of hers, the only friend she could really trust in this world. It would take a while to find another wolf as great as Delilah. The wolf is very kind, and is a generous soul. She is always able to lend a hand if needed. She inhaled as she let it out in a low snort. She looked up at the sky as a brisk wind started to pick up. A chill ran up her spine as she tried to shake it out. She was still not very aware of her surroundings, but she had a tendancy to do that.
The wolf was 30 inches at the whithers. She weighed 65 lbs, and was five feet in length. She has a shaggy brown and tan coat, and has a creamy underside. It's really hard to explain her looks actually. She is quite beautiful. She has chocolatey brown eyes, and the same color brown at the ends of her eyes. She has a small black spot under her left eye that looked similar to a mole. A gold medalion hangs around her neck that grants her one of her powers.
She looked over to a small pool of water. She cocked her head to the side. "Maybe it rained or something..." she thought as she padded over to it. She lapped at the chilled waters to replenish her thirst. She was a newcomer to the lands of the Nehorai pack, well, to the Nozomi lands in general. She looked around her for the first time and saw a male wolf. He wasn't large, so there was no fear in her eyes. She had a bad past involving two large male wolves, so she gets intimidated whenever she sees one. She sat down beside the small pool, thinking about going over to him. But in her normal shy nature, she remained still.
Typical Dreamer.
((Merp. Kinda bad...))

Nightmare, who was some few yards away from where the female was, took no notice in the fact that there was another wolf in the surrounding area. He was either oblivious to this or he knew and he just didn't care. It was hard to tell with him sometimes; one moment he was as kind as one could be, and the next, he was just.. well, no one really knew, not even himself. It wasn't too much of a big deal.
The wind seemed to shift then, bringing the scent on the female over to Nightmare. At first he just assumed he was imagining things; there wasn't anyone there just a second ago, why would anyone be there now? Like before, his shoulders lifted in a shrug as if he was answering his own silent question. Barking a low, humorless chuckle, Nightmare turned his head around to an odd angle, making a poor attempt to see who it was that was in the meadow. "Hn. Just a female," he thought soundlessly, letting his foresty green eyes take in her appearance. She didn't look like much of a threat, not that he was ever worried about such a thing even though he should be, but what did he know?
"I suppose I should make an attempt to say something...," he thought again as he turned his entire body around, knowing the female had seen him. A brow cocked slightly and his eyes narrowed, but not in a hostile way or in a manner that made him seem like he was better. It was just something he always did when he came across someone he did not know. "Hello," he said, speaking in monotone, something he did more out of a habit rather than just for the hell of it to annoy someone.

Dreamer looked up as she heard the low voice. The male had spoken to her; they were a little ways away. She turned around to make sure it was truely her he was speaking to. It must have been, sinse they were the only two wolves in the meadow. She smiled shyly (sp?). She wasn't generally the one to start conversations, but was always happy when someone approached her. She looked over the male. She felt as though it made her better understand what they were like. It usually didn't work. But it was meerly a habbit now.
He was a dark blue. His limbs and tail was wrapped in a bandage like material, as was his head. He wasn't larger than the normal sized wolf, which as she noted before, made her relax. Her tail thumped the ground behind her as she decided he wasn't going to be cruel or anything to her. She stood up at that point, and approached him. Feeling awkward, she moved slowly again. She didn't know the male, but she was happy that she had a chance of making a new friend.
As a usual Dreamer, when she gets nervous she has a tendancy to get clumsy. A small rock blocked her path to the male, and she just had to trip over it. She fell flat on her face, and through embarassment, she turned red. She just sat there for a minute, unsure of what happened or how to address the situation. At this point, she was in front of the dark blue male, so she just blushed and smiled.
She gave an embarassed laugh and smiled up at him, still on the ground. "Hehe, hello there." She said as she worked on standing up again.

Nightmare blinked hard in an attempt to hold back a laugh as he watched the female trip, but the corner of his maw twitched furiously as he bit down a grin. He didn't want to seem rude even though most wolves assumed he was because of the expression that was always seen on his face. "Er.., he spoke up, still fighting the urge to chuckle. "You alright there?" he asked, keeping the one brow arched as he looked her over once more. "Did you have a nice trip?" he asked a second later, gazing down at her. "I had one the other day.. can't say it was very pleasant. It was kind of painful now that I remember..." He let his voice drift off as he tried to lighten the mood. He could see she was embarrassed and he didn't want her to think he thought she was a fool.
"Anywho, I'm Nightmare." He nodded once and gave a short smile before his expression went back to 'normal'. "I'm a newbie around here, so if you're looking for someone to show you around, I'm not your guy." He paused momentarily, frowning at himself. He didn't even know if she was a member of this pack, so why was he making assumptions. "Sorry about that... are you a member here as well?" he asked before adding, "Oh, and what might your name be? Wait, let me guess. You're a.. Gemini? No, that's probably not right." He paused again and, for once, looked thoughtful. "Mystery? Well, you're name is a mystery to me. I'm not very good at guessing things, so why don't you just tell me so we're not here all night?" He flashed her a friendly grin, letting his backside fall to the ground as he sat.

As Dreamer stood, she could tell that the male was trying hard not to laugh. But she wouldn't have minded if he did. She did things like that all the time, so it wouldn't be a big deal. She nodded, and tried to shake off the blush. "Yeah, I'm fine." She said in a soft and sweet voice. She blushed slightly once more as he joked around, but she was used to it. She laughed at his joke, letting him know she didn't really mind it. "Yes, my trip was nice. One of the better trips I've had. It happens. I don't usually do a good job to prevent it though." She said with a wide grin on her maw.
"Don't worry. I'm new here too. I haven't really gotten a chance to explore the areas, so we're pretty evenly matched, if you get what I'm saying." She said. She then thought about his name. How ironic is it that he is Nightmare, and she was Dreamer? She chuckled, and gave him a hint. She wanted to let him guess on his own. "Well, our names are very closely related. It's really weird actually." She said, a broad grin streching accross her face. "If you can't get it, then I'll just tell you." She said, acting as if she thought she was better than the world-- but it was an obvious act.
She smiled. So far she liked him. She didn't have to be too shy around him. And she felt good about that. She felt comfortable, which generally made others around her comfy too. She wagged her tail as she made her new friend.

"Well, that's good to know then," he said in response to her 'trip'. He briefly wondered how clumsy she actually was, but decided it wasn't important. It wasn't as if he was going to judge her because of it. He wasn't one to talk - he had his moments. "And that's also good to know," he spoke a moment later, flashing a grin once more. "We can be.. hm.. what do they call them? Do they even call them anything?" It was obvious he was talking to himself at this point. His gaze was held up at the sky and his brows were pulled together in thought. "Pack buddies? That sounds kind of weird, but I'm sure you know what I mean?" he asked, dropping his gaze back down to hers.
"Hm." He pondered for a moment, still holding a quizzical look. "You sure you want me to guess? Even with hints, I'm still a very poor guesser. But if you want to be here all night..." He shrugged as if it didn't matter and turned his gaze back to the sky in thought. "Let's see..." He paused and shook his head. "I'm sorry, I'm really not coming up with anything. It's probably best you just tell me," he said with a nod as he looked back down and grinned faintly.

Dreamer giggled. "Yeah, I guess. Pack buddies works." She said after another small laugh. It seemed as though she was flirting, but that truely wasn't the case. That was just part of her personality. She seemed to flirt all the time; most of the time she doesn't even realize she's doing it. She wagged her tail as she looked into his eyes with her deep chocolate colored eyes. She always looked at another's eyes when speaking with them. She felt that if she did, they would know for sure that she was paying attention.
She rolled her eyes. "Fine, if you really need me to tell you..." She said in a dramatic voice loaded with heavy sarcasm. "Your name is Nightmare, and my name is Dreamer." She said, thinking to herself about how strange that was. Dreamer and Nightmare, they were sure to become good friends. They were name compatible. She raised her eyebrows and looked at the grass as she drifted off into thought. It was so strange that that their names were closely related. She shook her head as she looked back at him. She often had moments where she just looked off into space and thought about nothing, then when she snapped out of it she couldn't remember what she was thinking. She is a strange individual.
Dreamer looked back at his face to see his reaction to the name thing. It was certainly a shock to her when she heard his name. "Isn't that the weirdest thing?" She asked, trying to keep a conversation going.

"Are you just messing with me?" Nightmare asked, leaning forward with an arched brow and a devious expression. "Your name is really Dreamer?" The expression didn't leave his face until he tossed his head back and began laughing. He wasn't laughing at her name, no. He was laughing at how ironic their names were. He was a Nightmare, not literally, and she was a Dreamer. It amused him greatly. Never before had he met someone with a name that related to his in one way or another. "Well, that is certainly interesting and very strange," he said shortly after he recovered. "Well, Dreamer, I can promise I'm not really a nightmare. I don't think I am anyway. If I am, let me know. Just knock me over the head or whatever." He was rambling now, having never really taken part in a conversation. He was surprised at how easy it was; with her at least.
"So...," he said a moment later, taking a deep breath. "What brings you to a pack? If you don't mind me asking, that is," he said, offering the grin that was across his maw only minutes ago. "You the kind of girl that likes to be around other wolves? Me, well, I'm the kind of guy that usually just comes and goes. A loner as most would call me. This place doesn't seem too bad, though, so I guess I'll give it a shot." He stopped and laughed shortly. "Who knows? Maybe I'll find something that will keep me around."
