&I'll sing along, Yeah with every emergency, Just sing along, I'm the king of catastrophies, I'm so far gone, That deep down inside I think it's fine by me, I'm my own worst enemy;
The female wolf sat down next to the water, her deep purple eyes staring down into the soft waters, the colored stones and fish beneath the surface catching her gaze, though she wasn't truly watching. Velia's attention was elsewhere. Where, you may ask? Well, to be truthful, she wasn't even sure. Velia was just staring out into the water, many things on her mind. She had had a dream last night, it was all the different phases of her life. First, it was the island, and everything that had gone on there, then, it was Kaige in the forest, and then the pups, the mountain, Indians, and then she dreamed into the future... and she simply couldn't remember what had happened. Which was troubling her.
The female was slender, with a rather shaggy pelt; good for keeping warm in the winter, and thinning out in the summer. Nice for any time of year, really. The color was mostly a darker gray, with red markings swirling throughout it almost in a pattern, but something was always a bit off here and there. Her eyes never showed much emotion, and nearly always kept an easy, calm look to them. They were a dark, shadowed purple color, and went so deep, almost enough so that one could see down inside of her soul, but not quite there. It was normally hard for a wolf to read Velia's emotions. Around her neck hung a single black string made of some odd material, something unknown. It would be very hard to break though. The necklace was loose around her neck, and a single purple crystal hung from it, pulsing slightly in the near darkness. Two black feathers hung from her right ear. Imperfection; one might say.
The evening was cool, and the sun only beginning to set off in the distance. The sky was a mellow red, with puffy, smokey white clouds off in the distance suspended in the air like feathers. It was almost cool, reaching nearly seventy degrees, but not daring to drop any lower, of course. The only sounds were those of the birds, light trickle of water, crickets, and the occasional splash of a fish. It was so peaceful, and had become the spot that Velia came to nearly every evening to simply just relax and unwind at the end of every day. The grass she was laying on was fairly decent in length, but it wasn't insane, and seemed to thin with every step a wolf would take towards the edge until you had nothing but dirt left. There were a few flowers scattered about, and trees off nearby, but Velia was simply laying in the grass, looking off into the water.
She lied on her stomach, her head resting on her forepaws, looking rather peaceful in the slight breeze. Her tail swished slightly slightly from side to side, and her ears were in different directions, one pointing sideways and the other forewards slightly, as if she were a T.V. antenna trying to find a good signal. The female obviously was deep in thought, not paying much attention to anything around her, which could probably get her into lots of trouble if she were to be attacked, but that didn't matter, because she didn't plan on being attacked. So Velia sat there, pondering her dream, just trying to remember what had happened in her future, not really wanting to know... but also too curious to stop thinking about it.

It had been a few days, or maybe even a week, since Kaige had last conversed with other wolves. He had been observing the other wolves in his pack from the distance, taking note of their actions, thoughts, and feelings. It wasn't that he didn't want to interact with any of his members, it was just that he wanted to get an idea on how they acted and what they were like when a figure of authority wasn't around. Regardless of their act, he would be getting to know each member sooner or later. He was the Alpha after all and he had things he needed to take care of.
Even though the blazing rays from the sun were beginning to fade away into the horizon, it still felt considerably hot; even for the fall. It wasn't unbearable, but it was getting there; for him, anyway. If only it would rain. Or at least cool down."If only," he muttered quietly as he moved alongside the river at an unusual sluggish pace. For some reason unknown to him, he felt like something was missing. The question was, though, what was it? Whatever it was seemed to be taking a toll on him. His appearance was bland and he looked tired and old in age. His crimson eyes were dull in color, seeing things without really seeing them. He didn't seem like himself these days and it bothered him.
His pace slowed even more as he took notice of another presence in the area. He didn't particularly want to brew up a conversation with anyone at that time; what would this member think of him while he was in this condition? 'Why does it even matter what they think?' he wondered to himself, shaking his head irritably as he straightened his act up, putting the whole 'I'm the boss around here' look on his expression. Fortunately for him, he had nothing to worry about. When he saw it was only Velia, his dismal mood seemed to vanish and he appeared to look considerably better. "Well, hello there," he called out as he came closer to where she lay. Half a grin could be seen across his maw as he sat down upon his haunches just a few feet way. "What are you up to on this oh-so-lovely evening?" he asked, the sarcasm clearly evident in his voice. If anyone was able to bring out the 'better' side of Kaige, it was Velia.
ooc;; Yeah. xD I couldn't come up with anything intelligable

OOC|| Let's Hope I can come up with a good intro, to entertain you guys. BIC||
Black fur raised up and down in a constant motion, a rhythm. The rhythm was that of breathing, a wolf taking deep breaths. I can smell others. Are they relaxed? I'm sure they can smell me, can't they? The black fur only, continued to rise and fall in fashionable way, then slowly, ears started to move up wards, from their resting place on top of the males head. The ears faced to wards the new sounds, not the birds, not the wind, not the water, but the voices. How sweet to hear the voice. This must be the Alpha. Should I start to make an appearance? He questioned his movement, his thoughts. He had to be far past any pack that would have heard of his life, his home, his old pack. He started to feel confident, he took one last deep breath and then relaxed his body completely. They had to know he was there, he smelt different then they did. He slowly lifted his body, the fur fell as it no longer laid on the dirt floor. His back legs looked well-shaped as he pushed his tail up in the air and leaving his head to rest for a second. Finally his front legs extended, his height revealed, he was large. The black fur, took on a large wolf-shape, almost like he was dreamed up. He was taller then most, and his short fur left his muscular legs an open secret.
He opened his eyes, and for the first time he realized the time, the sun was setting, how fitting. It was very hot out, not something he was use to, so he liked to hid in the shade during the day. The piercing white eyes finally caught what they were looking for, the two wolves. Hm, well better say allo. A soft, but strong howl was rippling through his throat and out his lips. He was use to one with an anger to it, but he thought better. He would let his howl feel more like he was friend, because for right now, he wanted to be welcomed.

Velia's ears pricked straight up at the sound of another wolf, - maybe two? - oh well, it didn't matter much. Sighing quietly, she decided it would be best to be friendly with her own pack. However, as she stood up and turned her head slightly, a light grin crossed her maw at the sight of Kaige. "Why, hello there Kaige. Plesant surprise." She stated, nodding her head once. Eh, he was her Alpha, and she should probably have showed more respect to him, but it was Kaige, and well, respect wasn't her strong point anyways. Besides, he'd probably yell at her if she went all, 'pack member' on him anwyays. "Escaping the heat of the even more wonderful day." She stated with a sarcastic look in her eyes. "If I might ask, what brings you to these here par--"
Velia was cut off as she heard another voice off nearby the two of them. "Well who do we have here...?" She muttered quietly under her breath, turning again, she saw a tall, black wolf. Slightly intimidating, but not enough to actually make her frightened. Hearing his howl, she realized he was trying to be welcomed into The Uriel Pack, and stood, her purple gaze upon him for a moment. When he was done, Velia tilted her head back and let out a short, kind-for-Velia howl, and then looked back between Kaige and the newcomer. She wasn't sure if it was her place to speak first, so she kept quiet, planning to speak if Kaige didn't on his own. ... Which she figured he could, but still. Whatever, right?

An easy grin spread across his maw this time and it strangely reached his crimson eyes. It was a rare occurrence, something that hardly ever happened. "Isn't it?" he asked, referring to it being a 'pleasant' surprise. The grin disappeared, replaced with a disappointed frown. "What's this? No respect for your alpha?" he asked, his tone flat and his eyes dark. "Hm. I'm quite surprised, Velia. I thought you were smarter than that." His frown deepened momentarily and he shook his head, muttering something quietly. Of course he was only pulling her leg. He was sure she knew that. But, he was allowed to have just a little fun, wasn't he? He chuckled for a moment before commenting on the heat, gazing up at the quickly darkening sky. "It'll all be over and done with soon enough, I hope," he murmured, nodding vaguely. "It better be."
His gaze wandered back to Velia, a thoughtful frown now crossing his maw. Before he could say anything, or really even think about anything, a howl belonging to another wolf disturbed the somewhat 'peaceful' area. An irritable growl rose from his chest and up his throat as Kaige turned to look for whoever it was that decided to interrupt. 'Cool it... it's part of the job,' he thought silently to himself, though he couldn't help but feel a smidge of anger. He spotted the wolf a ways away and did a quick look-over. Dangerous? Didn't look like it. He did not speak or greet this intruder; not out loud. "Step forth, rogue, and speak. I do not have all day," he said, using his mind to speak. He did not care that he was being rude. He was the alpha, after all, and he had a right to treat these loners however he wanted.

A smirk crossed the males face as the female howled back. Was she the one who lead the pack? She was first to greet me. But that male, the one who called me a rogue, he had the temper. He must be the leader, and the beauty his mate. As the black wolf moved forward, he tilted his head lower, and then stopped, he never fully bowed to the two, just a noticeable nod. He continued after his gesture, he looked at them with his eyes, taking in every sight he could, every marking they had, and those eyes the female had, such a nice color. "Hello M'lady. Sorry for disturbing you" He said smiling at her, but he never once gave her an other glance. He dipped his nose, and raised his head staring the other male directly in the eyes. He was use to having the upper hand, knowing how an other male would react, but this was different he was away from home. "You, must be the Alpha. I'm sorry for the disruption. I am wondering, looking for a new home. I was hoping maybe I would be able to join your pack. I am Shadow Knight, from the once great pack of..." His voice was strong but ended in a weak, drifting sound. His mouth started to part, and it took a more soft tone, from his earlier greeting. "I would gladly be part of this pack for the time being. I am strong, and could hunt for you." He shut his eyes at the end of his sentence, he took in their sent. Nothing, not her. Where is she? I lost one love, I must find her. And how could I say I would hunt for him? I would rather be a wonderer then a hunter, under this mutt. "May I ask where I am? And who you are?" He opened his eyes, and lowered his front paws, his whole body slowly hitting the ground. He rested his head on his paws. "Hope you do not mind, I am kind of tired, and it is easier to look above me then below me" He said with a small chuckle.

The crimson gaze never left the other male, fire burning behind the pupils. He took note of how the male looked at Velia, not liking it in the least, but he had no control over her. They were not together, after all. "Yes, I am the Alpha," he spoke, his tone harsh. "These are my lands and I do not take kindly to those that wander within its vicinity." His eyes darkened and narrowed slightly as the feeling of being Alpha came back to him, having been gone for more than a century. "Just because you are strong, Shadow Knight, does not mean I have to accept you," he spoke again, his tone darkening as his eyes had. "Exactly what are you capable of? Why should I allow you entry into my pack?" he asked, a familiar impatient feeling creeping up his spine.
He was not sure about this male, but then again, he wasn't sure about most wolves. It also didn't help that he hadn't had this much power in over a century. The thoughts of this male struck him and a low, angry growl rumbled deep within his chest. "Watch your thoughts, fool, or they will be the last things you ever think," he said in an acidic tone as his hackles raised and his teeth bared. "I am a mind reader and more than that. If you want to join my pack, mutt, you better be wary of that. You will go by my rules and do what I say," he growled, muscles rippling beneath his shaggy coat of fur. "You are in the Uriel pack territory and I am Kaige," he replied, not letting his anger drop. "My word is law around here. If you do not like that, take your leave," he spoke through gritted teeth, feeling the anger surge through the blood that ran throughout his large body. If this wolf had thoughts of getting away with whatever he wanted, he needed to think again.

His claws dug into the ground and he lifted his body off the ground in a quick movement. "YOU CAN READ MINDS?" He was barking, he had a small growl comming from his throat and through his clenched teeth. His thoughts were not safe here. "I, I wonder how far can you hear.. or.. whatever you call it? I was wondering if you could find someone for me?" He said staring the male in the eyes. "Look, I don't mine disrespect. Acutally, I thought my thoughts were private. But that is not the case, listen. I understand I am to obey the laws you set, and should not be on your land with out your permisson. This is why, I came to speak with you. I can follow rules, and I will listen to you." His body was stiffening, this was not right. His thoughts should be his own. This, Kaige, this wolf, could hear his suffering, he had no right to search his head. "Please, all I want to have here is a family, until I find mine. All I will ask of you is to not read my thoughts. They are not always pleasent" He whispered. Would you like me to think of ways I could hunt you after I left? I am sure you can respect me and my privacy, Oh great one He thought, the last part sarcasticly,a smile crossing his face then quickly leaving. "My capabilties, are great or maybe not so great. I know I am to far from home for you to know of stories. But I was once an Alpha, yes I am young, not yet as wise as you. But I am fierce, strong, and know how to fight for what I want. I led such a pack that had no allies only enemies." He started with a thoughtfull tone, and soon it was like he was in a different place. His body was relaxing but his ears heard every movement, his eyes were slowly closing and his nose caught every sent the wind brought by. He was searching for his only love.
"We hunted other wolves. We fed on them, not deer, not moose, nothing but wolves. They are tasty you know? We were a pack of murders, very small mostly males. We fought among ourselves all the time. We never had a problem wanting the same thing though. We all wanted power, but we understood respect. I led them on a hunt for the Moonlight Realm pack, protected by the mountains, and there were the Greats, with my sister. They were there to stop us." He snapped back, seeing the past in his head. It was him in the lead of his pack, stopped only by a single small female, one of unique colours. She was plum and blue, beautiful, an angel. She had his matching white eyes, the one the pack held so dear. Behind her was the Greats, Helius, Carius, Althena. Fire, Earth, Water. They were to stop their attack, they killed the pack off. The image then stopped. He stiffened again, his own sister was to stop him? "This is not important though. Trust me when I say, I would be a great addition to your pack. I might be rough, and stubborn, but I know where to place my friendship, my alliance and my respect, of course only when rewarded." Shadow snorted the last part, his fur moving in the breeze.
He was from the north, the pine was fresh in his scent, he had slept under alot of pine trees on the way here. White eyes became clear as the eye lids of the black wolf snapped open. "Please, accept for atleast a week. Put me on probation. Just tell me, can you find someone? Can you read anyones thoughts?" He wanted to find his sister, the reason why he was drifting so far away from home. The black male closed his eyes again, he was thinking hard, his teeth beginning to show, not out of defense or offense, just out of being tense and worried. Please, help me find my sister?

"Yes, I can read minds," Kaige replied in the same tone as before, not flinching at the male's sudden outburst. "I can do a lot more than read minds. I have the ability to see into someones past, feel their feelings - both physically and mentally - and, at times, I get visions of someones future. Luckily for you," he paused as the beginning of a sneer twitched at the corner of his maw, "I can control this. I am able to get into one's mind without a problem, but I can just as easily avoid it." He snorted quietly as his muscles tensed briefly, keeping his crimson gaze trained on this wolf. "I am sure you know why I invaded your privacy," he spoke, arching a brow. "And, whatever it is you don't want others know, I haven't heard it. I heard only what you thought just a moment ago. However, I can dig into your past, but I will not do that even though you are new to these lands." He fell silent then as he listened to this Shadow Knight speak, vaguely hearing the thought he had.
"You think you can kill me?" he asked, nearly laughing out loud. "You are sadly mistaken. You see, I do not age. I never will. I will walk these lands for eternity." He would have been smug about the last part, but he honestly did not care that he was going to live forever. If he could have things his way, he would have been dead long ago. A low growl rumbled in his chest as heard Shadow Knight speak of hunting other wolves and a brief memory flashed before his crimson eyes. "You hunted other wolves?" he asked, the acid in his tone clearly evident now more than before. "If you turn out to be like the one that destroyed my family, so help me, I will have your head. Take the lives of any of my pack members and you will regret it," he growled, ears pinning back against his skull. "I will not have history repeat itself for me."
He was silent after that as he thought over what he would do. He didn't particularly want someone that hunted and killed other wolves in his pack, but he needed more members, especially when there were more packs forming. "Very well," he said after a moment, nodding once with narrowed eyes. "You are welcome to join, but I will be keeping my eye on you for the next few days. As for your one question, I can only hear the thoughts of those that are around me or in the general area of my pack lands. However, if I know who it is someone is looking for, I am sometimes able to locate where they are whether they are dead or alive if I concentrate long enough. This takes up much of my energy and leaves me feeling quite tired, so I very rarely do this." He said nothing more after that, briefly wondering why this wolf had asked him how he could hear. He decided it didn't matter and soon went on to thinking about other things, but his gaze never left the male.

A chuckle rumbled from the male, his eyes opening. He looked at the female one last time. "Oh, I would not hunt my pack. I would only for them. I can see you do not like the taste of wolf. I can hunt you something easier to eat. A deer? Maybe a rabbit appeases your appetite. Either way, I stay loyal to those I will defend." He Looked the sky, the sun saying its final good bye for the day, and moon making its first hello of the night. "Please, I understand you would want to watch me. I do not come off as friendly. I never could, I was raised to be well, scary. But am I really scary? I mean honestly, if you believe I could no kill you, then I should be no harm to you. And on this immortal thing, how old are you? For I must say, you boggle my mind. I have grown found of you so far. I'd say if I could run home, to my family I would drag you with me. You would make a great asset to my type of life." The male started to trail off, he was thinking of all the possibilities this wolf could lead to. He could tell them who was near by, their thoughts, who would be usefully to them. Endless possibilities. "I will obey you, for now I am under you utter command. But first I ask you one simple question. If I left you go back in to my past, so you can see what my sister looks like, would you help me find her? I promise the minute you find some sort of clue, I will probably leave. Unless I find happiness here." He said starting at the female. Her eyes are quiet charming. I would stay just to stare at them. They remind me of something that is an old time beauty. He sighed looking to the river. "I must hunt though, My Lord. May I ask your permission to do so? I will hunt off you land if that is what you wish. And my vow to you, is not to hunt wolves while I am part of the Uriel pack. I swear as Shadow Knight, to be loyal to no one but my new Alpha, Kaige" He said this closing his eyes and bowing his head.
He repeated the words he was use to hearing every spring as the new pups would claim loyalty to him. He smirked as he raised his head, how he missed his mate, his pack. He now had a different path to follow.

"No, that's fine," Kaige replied, the acidic tone he held before now disappearing. "In all honesty, I do not need to eat." It was true in away. He was immortal and there was no need for him to feast upon things he did not need when there were other wolves who needed it more than he did. "Very well then," he said with a nod, pulling his gaze away for a brief moment as he scanned over the surrounding area, making it seem as if he was looking for any signs of trouble. His attention snapped back to Shadow Knight as he spoke again and his eyes narrowed in thought this time rather than anger. "I cannot say whether or not you are scary, Shadow Knight," he replied, a frown now crossing his maw. "I do not know you very well just yet, but I am sure that in due time, I'll be able to come to some sort of conclusion."
Kaige was baffled by this wolf and somewhat confused. Why did he, Kaige, seem to be so interesting? He had never once thought of himself to be unique or even partially interesting. He thought of himself as rather bland, but apparently not everyone thought that way. "I'm.. one hundred and six," he replied slowly as his frown deepened. He didn't quite understand how he would be helpful to this wolf's family, but he did not question it; he would let it slide for now. "Looking into your past will not help me very much, and I have no intentions of invading your privacy." He paused shortly before adding, "But maybe in due time I can help you. Perhaps when you have settled down and gotten yourself acquainted with everyone else."
He watched how Shadow Knight stared at Velia, an odd feeling coming across him. What was it? He didn't like how he was looking at her, but again, they were not mates and he really had no control over the situation. He shook his head and looked back to Shadow Knight, nodding briefly. "Feel free to hunt in my territory. Take whatever it is that you need, but be sure to leave enough for the rest."

He backed away from the two wolves. He kept his head low, showing respect. He felt stupid bowing down to someone else, he was always the one giving orders. "I feel the need to hunt off your land. On common ground. I must see if my fate led me here for a reason. I must find my sister. She betrayed me, I must..." He left his sentence unfinished. The wolf stood tall, turning around, he whisper a final good bye, a mocking comment. "I hope you are nothing like me, that you would never attack a wolf when they had their back turned. I promise to come back fed, and if thy ladies wishes for any food let her speak now. WAIT!" He stopped all his movements. "..Is she.. immortal too?" He said his ears turned to them. His paws picked up their pace, he could finish this conversation another time. He needed food, he needed time away from this mind reader. Would he honestly respect a new comers request, and not read my thoughts? Either way, my thoughts have to be mine own as much as possible. I will hunt away from here.
Shadow made it into the cover of the trees, and slowly disappeared. He did not like this scent, it was not his, it was not Midoirs, it was not the north. He longed to be with her once again, but first he had to hunt for his sister. Midori was good for gone, her fault.

Velia pondered what had just been discussed between the two males. The thoughts she did not know, could not hear, she had to fill in the blanks. Velia could only guess about this male, and yet, something about him made her wonder. Her purple eyes would darken a bit every time he would look at her, because frankly, Velia didn't like the fact that he ate other wolves. That was just... gross. She didn't like the fact that he was asking so much of Kaige, or the pack in general. She didn't like how cocky he was being, she didn't like a lot of things that he had said. Velia... well... she judged a lot off of first impressions, and wasn't really liking the one that this wolf had given her. It troubled her a bit, you could say.
Velia quickly withdrew herself from her thoughts when she heard a question directed, well, not toward her, but about her. 'Is it really that hard to ask me myself?' She wondered, that same, 'I don't like you, you're a weirdo' feeling coming over her again. She opened her maw a bit to answer, but then closed it again, seeing the wolf run off in the opposite direction. "Oh, okay then." She stated, shrugging it off as her ears tilted in different directions, her gaze moving from the male wolf, - what was his name? Shadow Knight? - yeah, that was it, to the river again. It was darker now, and the soft moonlight reflected off of the waters, the redish colors now replaced with silvery-blue ones on the rocks. It was still really beautiful.
As she brought herself back from her thoughts on the night, she looked back over at Kaige. "Well... Shadow Knight seems... interesting." She stated, not sure whether or not to talk about what had just happened, or to switch it off to a different subject. She decided that if he wanted to, Kaige would, because she didn't plan on saying anything else at the time. A light breeze blew in and her pelt ruffled gently as the black feathers in her fur became tangled in each other, but soon were fixed with simply a shake of her head. "But anyways..." Velia really didn't feel like discussing the creep the two had just met. Well, it was obvious, Velia just didn't really like him too much. He didn't scare her. He just... she didn't know. There was something wrong with him.

Kaige watched as the male took off into the night, not letting his crimson gaze peel away from him until the shadows of the surrounding forest took him away. He wasn't too sure about this wolf or why he wanted him to help him find his.. what was it? Sister? Something like that. He didn't know what to think of that. Did he really want to help someone he barely knew? Maybe when he had been in the pack longer? Kaige's eyes narrowed in thought and he shook his head, silently going over the recent events. Something was up, he just couldn't figure out what it was at that exact moment. He didn't know if he wanted to, either.
"I don't know about him," Kaige spoke up a moment later, still staring at the spot Shadow Knight had last been seen. "Something isn't right about him. I have a... not a bad, but strange, feeling about this guy," he said, brows pulling together in thought. "I don't know." He shook his head and said nothing more about the male, thought his thoughts about him were not done and over with. Why had he looked at Velia the way he did? Like.. like she was a piece of meat or something. 'Why do you even care?' he wondered silently, frowning in thought. 'Well.. she's part of my pack. I have to worry about all members, right?' It seemed as if Kaige was having a conversation with himself in his mind, and boy was he glad no one else around his pack had mind reading powers. 'Yeah.. right. Don't kid yourself.'
Pulling himself back into reality, Kaige glanced over to Velia sideways and half shrugged for no particular reason. "So... anyway..," he began, feeling only slightly awkward, "Now that that's done and over with... what would you like to do?" he asked, instantly regretting asking the question in the first place. 'Why should it bother me?' he wondered. 'It's not like I'm trying anything.' A pause. 'Ha. You slay me.' He left his silent conversation alone, grinning faintly in Velia's direction before turning his gaze elsewhere.
