RANGI. [TheBrokenRebel]
Rangi tilted his head upward as he looked up at the sky. It was dark, the moon lingered in the sky as stars danced across the blacken night. He took a deep fresh of air as he closed his dark red eyes. He had just joined the Avani pack only a day before, and he still was unsure why he joined here in the first place. He shifted his weight as he looked back to the sky. It was a nice day out, but Rangi grinded his teeth together as he pushed himself up from the damp ground –it had rained earlier- he turned and looked into the springs cool water. His reflection stared back at him. A cold and bitter look lingered in his eyes – along with something else…something long lost forgotten. Rangi cursed under his breath and smacked the water with his paw, his reflection was ruined by ripples of water.
It seemed like ages ago since he had been with her. At first he kept a hold of the memories, not wanting to let them go. However…as time went on and the darkness took control of his heart, Rangi had let go. He had let go of her. He could barley remember her. He could not remember her name, he could not remember anything about her – except for one thing…the feeling he had toward her, however that was locked away, deep within his heart. He was not going to let him feel that way again. He was a fool. How could he ever be so stupid?
He shook his head as he pushed his past life away from him. That was a long time ago. He was different now. Things had changed. He was no longer the same wolf he had been. He pinned his ears back against his head as he sighed. Rangi Nightwater – the wolf that used to be joking and loving around the one had loved – had turn cold and harsh a much different wolf then he had been his entire life. Why were these memories and feelings stirring up once more though? Whoever she was, she was long gone now, and she died a long time ago. So why should he care?
However he could not deny that he did care. He took a deep breath as he stared back down into his reflection. Another thought zoomed through his mind.
Arialla.
That was her name.
The only one he ever truly loved.

A whisper against the wind, a whoosh of air surrounded a wolfess with a strange pelt of silvery white. Faintly glowing it seemed against the night sky, the being opened her eyes upon the world. Instantly she was on her guard. Someone else was near, and she intended to keep far away. Shaking her body a bit to ease off the stiffness that had taken place within her bones, she cautiously walked around the area. Twin tails flowed elegantly from behind, while an appendages with an abnormal wingspan were pressed against her back. A blue topaz necklace chimed ever so silently whilst it hit her chest. Small for her size, she made up for it in other areas.
She couldn¡¯t remember anything from the past, it was all too hard. Giving her memories to Caliah, the desert goddess of her homeland had definitely done the trick in the loss. Not being a ghostly spirit was enough to make the small wolfess jump at all times in joy and celebration, however without the memories, it seemed a bit more empty. In mind, body, and soul, she felt something lost, yet something gained. Given more room to practice her skills and expand her knowledge, she knew that in time, her wisdom would surpass. How long it would take, was another matter. Though Caliah had indeed had given her a longer life, she did not know how long. Why, she could just drop dead the next day. However, the female did not tarry or pay attention over these thoughts, for they were meaningless to her. All she cared to do now in this life, was to find, heal, and travel in solitude.
River-blue eyes bright along with the stars instantly perked up. Not knowing herself, she was walking, bit by bit, towards the strange scented wolf that somehow pulled at her from inside. Stopping altogether, she slowly sat down upon her haunches and thingyed her head ever so slightly to the left, auricles taking in every minute sound. With a tiny twitch of her right ear, she froze altogether, then relaxed a bit. ¡° Perhaps if I stay silent, the odd-smelling wolf may not notice me,¡± she whispered under her breath. While sitting, her face became empty, holding a lost look if one was to glance upon her. Sighing quietly, she curled up into a petite position, and leisurely closed her eyes.
¡° Memories and thoughts are indeed trifling, all I remember is a¡¦peculiar bandana,¡± she yawned listlessly. Not fully asleep to the inspective wolf, her eyes were merely closed, while the rest of her senses were alert as could be. ¡° Mhm¡¦bandana¡¦ah Arialla, stop muttering nonsense¡¦¡±Then, she drifted off into a hypnotic slumber.

RANGI. [TheBrokenRebel]
Rangi sighed as he pinned his ears back upon his head. He closed his eyes as he tried to get rid of the memories, why was he remembering now? Suddenly a familiar sent came to his nostrils. He perked up his ears and snapped open his eyes. Normally he would be pissed off that someone who just walk up behind him and not say anything, but for some strange reason he couldn’t be angry. Part of him wanted to snap around and give that wolfess a piece of his mind, but he paused. His body froze up. It was as if he knew who it was, but he was too afraid to utter or even think of the name. He took a deep breath and gulped as he gradually turned around and faced the wolf that wasn’t standing too far away from him. When he saw who it was – everything about her was too familiar for it to not be her! Rangi could feel his legs grow weak as he watched her. He took a few steps forward, narrowing his eyes, he had to be dreaming.
“Arialla…” He mumbled under his breath, but it was still loud enough for her to hear. “Is that truly you? I-I thought you were dead!” He said. He remained silent. His voice was low and shaky. He sat down upon the ground because he was afraid his legs were going to cave in. After all these years he thought she was dead, and now she was standing right before him! Unless his mind was playing a trick on him. It had to be it. That’s what it was. Rangi frowned slightly, he somewhat hoped that it wasn’t true. He wanted it to be Arialla, but even if it was, what could happen? Rangi was different. There was a dark part of him that no longer loved her.

Automatically, Arialla snapped open her eyes. On her feet in an instant, a short snarl ruptured from her throat. However, after a moment¡¯s time, she relaxed her tension, and eyed the male in front of her. Warily, she slowly got up, and without thinking she walked straight towards him until her nose was but a few centimeters from his. Bright river-blue eyes gazed deep into dark red ones, as if searching. Glancing up at his head, a look of surprise passed through her face.
¡°¡¦Bandana?¡± she muttered, but then blinked twice. Taking a few steps backwards, she then sat down and coiled her two tails tightly against her slim body. Narrowing her eyes a bit, she asked a simple question. ¡° Who, are you? You seem some-what familiar,¡± she stated, looking back to the bandana once more. ¡° And how do you know my name? It¡¯s true, I once was dead, but how do you have that piece of knowledge as well? All this is very confusing¡¦¡± she wisped out a tiny sigh, looking at the ground, then up to the wolf.
Her memory buzzed for just a second at the site of the male, but then disappeared like a blown out candle, the smoke traveling around the wick. She had to admit though, the male was strangely alluring and handsome to any creature¡¯s eyes. Flashing off her famous charming smile, her teeth were pearly white.
¡° What¡¯s your name?¡± she asked innocently, her ears perked forward slightly, awaiting his reply to all of her questions. Even if she had changed, her curiosity and nature of asking questions had not ceased.

RANGI. [TheBrokenRebel]
Rangi frowned at her questions. So, she didn’t remember him. He grunted as he turned his head away. She probably wanted to forget about him. Even if that was true, could he honestly blame her? Part of him wants her to be out of his memory, to forget the time they spent together forever. However a small part of him wanted to remember. Wanted to remember that feeling forever, but that was a long time ago. He turned his head back and stared at her a long time, there was a bitterness that lingered in his eyes. “So you don’t remember who I am do you? Very well then. Why should you? After all we were only simply mates. Nothing more nothing less.” He said as he turned his head away from her.
“But it doesn’t matter, I mean that was a hundred years ago, if not longer.” He said with a shrug of his shoulders, like he didn’t care, and what he hated more then anything about it – is that he cared damit! And it sucked. He shifted his weight as he turned to look back at her, a small smirk tugged across his maw. He wasn’t going to show weakness. So what if she didn’t remember him, he shouldn’t care, he moved on with his life a long time ago. The part that loved Arialla was almost gone – a small droplet of water in a huge ocean. It would take much to make that love grow – but seeing Arialla once again had sparked his lost love for her “My name?” He repeated her question with a tilt of her head. “Well, if you must know. It’s Rangi.”

Her jaw dropped a bit, her eyes turning round.
¡° Rangi? That sounds, so familiar¡¦¡± she said, getting up and walking closer to him. As she walked however, she tripped over a small stone and landed face down on the ground, her nose throbbing with pain.
¡°¡¦Ow,¡± she stated, then looked up, ¡° mates you say? Mates¡¦hm, yes. The bandana.¡±
Standing upright this time, she took in a deep breath and opened up her sense of smell and sighed. A peaceful look came over her as she twitched her twin tails. Then, she pinned her ears flat against her skull, showing him a sorry look filled with much sorrow.
¡° I¡¯m sorry, I don¡¯t remember much after I sought out my old roving pack. Truthfully, I want to forget it. Yet, your scent is intoxicating.¡±
As she said this, her hose twitched slightly, as if showing him that it did. Perking her ears up a bit, she then leaned forward but an inch. A look of longing and pain traveled from the inside of her body, and out to the surrounding air about her. In a careful and soft tone, she asked him but a simple question.
¡° You could help me. Remind me of it all from before the war. It would help me and you. We both deny the fact, yet the truth is solid. Both of us can¡¯t deny that we don¡¯t want to let go. Even if I can not remember, I want to stay near you, close to your presence. Please¡¦¡± she wisped, her voice faltering near the end to a whisper.

Rangi. {TheBrokenRebel}
Rangi tried to force himself away from him. He groaned as he turned his head. He dug his claws into the ground as he snapped his eyes closed, not wanting to look at her. Why was it so difficult? He didn’t want to feel this way. For the past hundred years he has been living with the nightmare of actually loving someone, and now she was back from the dead and she just thought they could where they left off? And she didn’t even have her memory still. He clenched his teeth as he tried to ignore her, part of him just wanted her to leave him alone – but the part that sill loved her was beginning to take over him. He took a deep breath as he gradually turned his head and looked at her, pinning his ears back upon his skull.
“Help you remember me?” He said with a mocking laugh. “Help you remember everything you’ve lost.” He pushed himself off of the ground and walked away from her. He looked back down at his reflection. “Sometimes it is better to just forget what happened in the past.” He turned and looked at her. “You have the luxury of forgetting everything.” He narrowed his eyes. “I have to spend the rest of my life trying to forget.” He shook his head. It was true. In the beginning every day he relived his past. His past getting thrown into his face…but soon he began to forget…but now. Since Arialla came back, his past came back, he now remembered everything.
“Just be glad that you don’t remember.” He mumbled under his breath; however it was loud enough for her to hear him.

Arialla narrowed her eyes and stood up, twin tails twitching angrily behind her like an open flame of fire.
" Luxury? How is THIS a luxury?! Everyday, I pine for something deep within my body. It keeps nagging and nagging. Tearing and tearing. It hurts so much, that I have to knock my head against a rock hard tree to try and forget it. Yet, it still comes back, the same as ever," she explained hurt slowing creeping it's way into her voice.
Turning away, she was about to leave, but then, she stopped and froze. Once more, she went back over to him, but made sure that she was a few steps behind him. She flashed another charming smile, and gave off her well-known twinkling laugh.
" Fine then. I'll just follow you around until I remember. You may not appreciate the idea, but I know that deep down, you want it to happen. I'll stay out of site if need be, just, I just want to be close to you. The pain of having a memory ripped out from you..." Arialla shuddered at the thought of it.
" Could I just at least tag along for a bit?" she stated once more, her eyes glancing side-ways. The river-blue gaze seemed like an endless pool of sorrow that churned ever so slightly.

Rangi. {TheBrokenRebel}
“You just don’t understand!” Rangi growled at her. “I would love to forget. To forget it all!” He said as he grinded his teeth together. He hated the thought of remembering everything, and it sucked because he wanted to remember! Part of him wanted to hold onto the wonderful feeling he felt when he was around her. However, it could never be the same, so much has happened between them, that how could it be the same? It couldn’t. Rangi just wasn’t mean to be happy. “Everyday I wake up remembering the past. The feeling…to see everyone you care about and love to be ripped from you…to wander the earth for a hundred years, not knowing what to do.” He turned and faced her.
“If I could forget it all – I would! But, unlike you, I can’t! I have to remember…and part of me absolutely hates it.” He said with a deep sigh. At her next words he frowned. It reminded him of the past. When she used to follow him around before, he said he was annoyed by it, but actually Rangi did like something about her first – but he was too stubborn to admit it, and now? Now what was wrong with him? He had a chance to reunite with his lost love, and he is just pushing her away. God, he was such an idiot….but still. He turned and looked at her, still frowning. “Arialla, you don’t need to follow me around…I’ll…” he wasn’t sure what to say or what to do.
“I’ll tell you anything you want to know.” He told her as he looked at her, tilting his head slightly. He knew this is what he truly wanted, he would take any chance he could have with her – but he was worried about being hurt once again.

Her gaze landed upon his again, and she hopped up onto her feet like a rambunctious pup. She cleared her throat a bit at her sudden outburst, and turned a light shade of red, which seemed to be the color of a pink peach. Closing her eyes, she then opened them, they were large understanding of what she was about to ask.
" Tell me what you know, tell me...what happened when we first met. All I remember of it, was that it was such a glorious and peaceful feeling. As if the missing piece of my puzzle was put together," she asked, tingles down her spine. " But before you do, I want to do something," Arialla said. Slowly she walked up to Rangi, and gave his left ear a warm lick from her soft tongue. During that act, she simple said
" I love you Rangi. Forever and ever. Stay. Don't let go of me,"
Gingerly, she walked back to her same spot, patiently waiting for his next move. The clouds above cleared up to reveal a trasparant sky. The sun lightly shone upon the land, giving off rays of dimly dazzling auros.
" By the way, you look as handsome as ever Rangi," Arialla giggled a bit, blushing once more.

Rangi. {TheBrokenRebel}
Rangi froze when she licked his ear. A weird sensation came over him. Like a forgotten feeling locked up. He had forgotten what it was like, to have her near him, everything about her…he shook his head and blinked several times when she spoke the words in his ear. He frowned slightly. Not at her, but at himself. She did not remember him. Yet, she still knew she loved him. He on the other hand remembers everything – and yet had doubts if he really loved her or not. He cursed himself under his breath, he could not erase what has been done, but perhaps he can fix his past mistakes. He smiled softly at her, the first smile in a very long time as he spoke. “I love you too, Arialla. I’ve always have…even if I had my doubts.” He said as he turned to look away from her, before looking back.
“All that I know, hm?” He said with a sigh as he cleared his throat. He did not like remembering the way he treated her when they first met. “When we first met you would follow me everywhere I went. I have no idea why, but you did. I-I pushed you away. I didn’t want you around. You reminded me so much of someone else.” He paused as he took a deep breath. This was much harder then he thought. He remained silent for a few moments before he would speak again. “Finally, I realized I did love you and well we finally got together.” He said with a smirk. “We had two beautiful children. A girl Fraya and a male Nio, everything was perfect, but it couldn’t last…”
His words faded into the silence. He wasn’t sure if he could go on or not. He wanted her to remember, but it was very hard for him to say all this. But there was no other way. He had to keep going. “A war happened in the forest that we lived; and you then vanished.” Rangi frowned at this. “I was only gone for a short time, and when I came back, I could not find you. I took our children and sent them away – and then I left.” He said with a sigh. “And then here we are again today.” Rangi did blame himself to some point. If only he didn’t leave for those few minutes, then he could have saved her, but he wasn’t there…he wasn’t there…

~ Arialla took this rather calmly, straring directly into Rangi's eyes, not breaking the link. She then closed her eyes for a moment, reminiscing over all that he had said just before. Opening her eyes, she nodded. It was enough to show that she understood everything that Rangi had spoken of, and that she did not hold anything against him. Heck, though she was gone for a while, her ties with her mate could never be broken that easily. She loved the rebellious wolf, nothing else in the world mattered to her.
" I see, and I understand Rangi. I-," her voice faltered as she started to speak, her eyes going large and round in shock.
" Nio? Fraya? No....no!" Arialla screamed jumping up to her paws and pacing back and forth like a jack rabbit.
Sitting down, she howled up to the sky and questioned herself." Why, why?!" she echoed on and on again.
Getting up once more, she walked up to a tree and slammed her head, not too hard at least, against the trunk twice, then slumped to the ground, her ears drooping and tears in her eyes. Soon, her sleek fur was wet with them, and compressed to her body, making her appear very small. She did indeed, feel small at that moment.
